Our Mission & Story

A California nonprofit organization established in August 2016 with the purpose of raising funds to help families suffering the pain of losing a loved one and not being able to bury him or her.

How did the idea for this foundation come?

Watching the anguished face of a mother

The foundation was born while watching the anguished face of a mother crying for her son who had passed away — and who did not have the money to bury his body.

Her son's long and painful illness had left the family with very limited means, and no chance to save for that moment. No mother should have to carry that weight alone.

What is our project?

  1. Raise funds to help with the cemetery deposit for families who qualify after presenting an application to the Foundation, relieving the anguish of not having the deposit needed to set a date for funeral services.

  2. Help with fundraising events that families request our sponsorship for, such as creating an online fund and sharing it on social media.

  3. Provide spiritual guidance to bereaved families.

  4. Provide education to families so they can prepare before the time comes to say goodbye to a loved one.

Heaven is our destiny

God's promise

“Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in me. There is more than enough room in my Father's home… When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”
John 14:1–3

Burying the dead is a corporal work of mercy

“Funerals give us the opportunity to grieve and show others support during difficult times. Through our prayers and actions during these times we show our respect for life, which is always a gift from God, and comfort to those who mourn.”
Pope Francis

Why do we bury the body?

“…Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God…”
1 Corinthians 6:19

God promises us…

“Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble. The Lord protects them and keeps them alive. He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies. The Lord nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health.”
Psalm 41:1–3
